The American Athletic 523 is a nice upgrade from standard tricot-lined recreational skates. Sumilon synthetic leather lining is comfortable and absorbent. Offers a little more support than cloth linings.

Features bell backstays for support, heel protecting counters, hollow ground and hardened and tempered zinc plated steel blades. A basic recreational or "pond" skate.

These skates tend to run a bit small. You may want to order up a size. Half sizes go up two sizes (e.g. 2 1/2=4.)
